Committee on Security and Defense
The duties of the Committee include:
- That they can call anyone related to their duties.
- Disarming the public.
- Reinstatement of militias.
- Protecting the country’s borders.
- Monitoring of the fight against smuggling, narcotics, pirates and pirates.
- Monitoring the fight against terrorist groups.
- This committee supervises the National Security Committee.
- Monitoring Immigration and Citizenship Issues.
- Monitoring of the country’s armed forces, police, security and law enforcement.
- Monitoring the National Plan for the Security and stability of the country.
- To submit a written report every two months to the Upper House.
- Every communication that the Committee makes with any direction of work must be in writing.
The Upper House of the Federal Parliament of Somalia represents the Member States of the Federal Government, with powers of legislation, safeguarding the federal system, and overseeing government activities, as stipulated in the Constitution.
