The leadership of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament of Somalia consists of the Speaker and two Deputy Speakers, who jointly lead the House’s activities and are responsible for presiding over sessions and coordinating its work.

The first Speaker of the Upper House, Senator Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, was elected on January 22, 2017. Following the formation of the 11th Federal Parliament of Somalia, he was re-elected as Speaker on April 26, 2022.

The current leadership of the House comprises Senator Abdi Hashi Abdullahi (Speaker), Senator Ali Shacban Ibrahim (1st Deputy Speaker), and Senator Abdullahi Ali Hersi (2nd Deputy Speaker).

The leadership plays a pivotal role in guiding and ensuring the smooth operation of the House, fulfilling its constitutional mandates, and representing the Federal Member States of Somalia.
