The Federal Parliament of Somalia (The Upper House and The House of the People) will reconvene on October 9, 2019 after a break of two months in which they had time to spend in their constituencies, with their families or on holiday. It will restart in a joint session planned to be held in Mogadishu and will be attended by Senators, MPs and other dignitaries.
This session will last in the coming fourth months till January 9, 2020. As the Parliament is a custodian of democracy and human rights it will fulfill all of its constitutional mandates of Legislation, Representation and Oversight.
In this coming session the Parliament will address and debate a record of important bills that are very vital to state building and governance.
The following are the Bills that are under the considerations of Upper House of Somali Federal Parliament in this session:
- Petroleum bill
- Amendment of Auditor General Law
- Public financial management bill
- Company law
- Draft bill on National Health Professions Council
On the other hand, the following bills are still under the consideration of the House of the People of Somali Federal Parliament.:
- Electoral Law
- Review of Political Parties Law
- Revenue Management Bill
