Welcome to the website of The Senate of Somali Federal Parliament. The Senate is also known as “Aqalka Sare” in the Somali language which means the Upper Chamber. It is one of the two houses of Somali Federal Parliament. The Senate is very young and was established in late 2016.

The Secretariat will do every endeavor to help the Senators and the house to carry out their mandates in a smooth manner. There is a platform to recognize and promote the interaction between Citizens and Senators in the website called “Citizens’ Engagement” in order for the senators to be close to the citizens.

The house will act with dignity and not lose the trust that our citizens had placed in us.

I believe that Parliament matters for everyone and will always strive to move the Senate to the next level.
